Nyaaaaa~ -_-;; Didn't expect to sleep this much, thought I'd be up earlier cos of jetlag.

Anyhoo, gotta go register at school today... In the mean time, all you kids can read Neil Gaiman's "A Study in Emerald," nominated for a Hugo for best short story. (Which is why it's up on the web. ^_^;) It's that Cthulu meets Sherlock thing. I *hearts* it. Fu fu.

....................................................

I'm back! Hope everybody's been having a grand time while I was running around NYC. ^_^; Got in to LAX this morning... got home, threw the windows open, scrubbed my bath tub, showered, vacuumed, picked up my mail from the post office...p> Now I'm gonna flop for a while. And then I'll catch up with posts and write about the trip (the Whitney Biennial! MoMA! The Met! Serendipity! Kill Bill! Korean barbecue! Woodbury Commons! ^_^;) as I take on the pile of laundry that's eyeing me from the suitcase.

....................................................

Am in NYC at Kat/Pijus'~ Feeling better now, but was really really motion sick yesterday. I haven't been motion sick in a long time, but I guess two short (1-1.5 hrs) flights in smaller aircrafts going over something slightly bumpy, plus a taxi driver who zooms his way from JFK to Manhattan while on his cell phone and keeps the windows closed (no air flow) will do it. x_x I was glad I skipped lunch. That and it was cold and raining, which didn't help. ^_^;

Now to plan! MoMA, the Whitney and the Met, definitely. So looking forward to the exhibit at MoMA... why does MoMA have to be in Queens right now?? Also want to hunt down some kind of blazer by Chloe or Stella McCartney, so will prolly dig around in Century 21, I'm not so loaded I can buy that at full price. x_x Screaming Mimi's I wanna check out too. Am also very enamoured with a New Zealand designer called Karen Walker... will poke around for her stuff too, in addition to checking out Marc-y (and hitting the adjacent Magnolia Bakery). :P Need to exchange the earrings that I got for Momo's grad... she prefers another design, so thank you, return policies at US stores. ^_^;

Gladys and Jamie are gonna come join us this weekend, which is fab, and Kurt's trying to figure out when he's coming over too. Woohoo~!! *^o^* I'm excited, can't you tell? Right now, I'm just hoping for dry weather. ^_^;

(P.s. I seem to forget to update here a lot. -_-; Just give the LJ a poke if you don't see anything happening here, okay?)

A random assortment of stuff ^^; Got the SMILE CD+DVD a couple of days ago... been listening. It's a good album. And *different* from the stuff from their previous albums (to the point that I thought Spirit Dreams Inside was almost a little too jarring in style compared to the rest of the songs, since it was released, what, 3 years ago?). Took about 2 listenings to get used to it, and now I'm really into it. I'm glad they're evolving. また成長したね。Haven't watched the DVD yet... Actually, haven't watched the one that came with my GLAY album either. Suspect I'll watch them some time today.

Sherlock and Lovecraft fans: check out Neil Gaiman's story "A Study in Emerald" in the Shadows over Baker Street anthology. (I sat down and read it in B&N. :P) It's interesting... and I'll say no more lest I spoil it.

On a different note, didya know that if you're a freelance illustrator, working on such things as video game art, you can buy all the anime or cartoons you want and then have them be tax deductible? Dude, I want a gig like that. x_x This revelation brought to you by Asako's BF Peter. Had shabushabu at their place last night and borrowed Futurama Vol. 3. Been watching that all night. Mwaa.

Also, will be heading to Carmel this weekend! Will be visiting the luv-r-ly Miss hj2 and catching the RSC's All the Great Books show. Gleee~ *^o^*

....................................................

It stormed today.... and I made the active decision to stay in bed an extra 2 hours.

It was the best in-bed feeling ever, with the pounding rain outside and the cooler temperature, and the silky feel of my blanket. *hearts*

My new GLAY album!! It is here! 我手It's on a full volume right now. *^O^* Thank you, YesAsia. Soon: L'Arc-en-Ciel! (That top pic cracks me up. *^-^*)

They're having an GLAY EXPO 2004 on 7/31. ã?§ã‚‚行ã?‘ã?ªã?„。å-|æ ¡ã?Œã?‚る。ï¼Sã?—ã??ï¼S ;_; Can't make it to the L'Arc SMILE tour either. Goddamn school schedule. Oh, and did I mention I'll miss the Endless gig on 4/21 cos I'll be in HK? -_-; What is this, the year of missed gigs??? x_x)

I was talking to Gladys on Messenger, and it occured to me that I haven't shared this with people.

Behold the solid gold toilet.

More procratination aid. From me, to you:

Behold the Brick Testament! It's the Bible -- in Lego! It's up there with Lord of the Peeps in terms of scale and, um, insanity. ^_^;

Speaking of scale and insanity, has anybody else heard anything about "Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation"? I read about it in Vanity Fair, of all places. Really inspirational obsession kind of story. (Here's one article, and here's one with a very short trailer/clip... can't find anything as detailed as the thing I read in Vanity Fair though.) I wonder if there's any way to get a hold of this movie anywhere? @_@

P.s. tet-chan: AZUMANGA~!!! *^O^* *nenekokoneneko!*
